Sura Younos, verse 20

They say: “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say: “The Unseen is only for Allah [to know], then wait ye: I too will wait with you.” (from www.tehranloh.ir)

Sura Younos, verse 20

Explanation of the verse:

Majlesi in volume 52 of Behar-ol-anvar narrated through Yahya-bn-el-abouqasem who has narrated that: I asked from Imam Sadeq (AS) about the verse “الف لام میم ذلک الکتاب لا ریب فیه هدی للمتقین الذین یومنون بالغیب و یقیمون الصلاه و مما رزقناهم ینفقون” (A. L. M. This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them) (Sura Baqara, verse 1-3) he stated in response: ((the meaning of “المتقون” (those who fear Allah) in this verse, are Shias (who follow Imam Ali AS) and the meaning of “الغیب” (Unseen) is Qaem (AJ) and my proof in saying that, is the verse “ وَ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ لا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا الْغَيْبُ لِلهِ فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرينَ “

(They say: “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say: “The Unseen is only for Allah [to know], then wait ye: I too will wait with you.) the honored and glorified God [in Quran] called the Unseen and “آیه” (sign) and the unseen is the very proof [and reason] and the proof of this speech is the word of God which is: “و جعلنا ابن مریم و امه آیه” (And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign) (Sura Momenoun, verse 50) in which, [آیه which means sign] means proof and reason.”

This narration has been also narrated in first volume of Kamal-o-din by Sheykh sadough.
