Verse:

Sura Takvir, verses 15-16

Translation:

So verily I call to witness the planets – that recede, go straight, or hide. (from www.tehranloh.ir)

Sura Takvir, verses 15-16

Explanation of the verse:

Mohsen Qeraati in in volume 10 of Noor interpretation has written: ((خنّس)) is the plural form of ((خانس)) which means referrer. ((جوار)) is the plural form of ((جاریه)) which means flowing and streaming and ((کنّس)) is the plural form of ((کانس)) which means hiding. The interpreters, regarding the next verses which are about finishing of the night and happening of the sunrise, have known the verses “فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ الْجَوارِ الْکُنَّسِ” ((So verily I call to witness the planets – that recede, go straight, or hide.) about the stars which every night are appeared and by rising of sun they disappear; meanwhile they are moving undercover and so they return to their position next night. Thaqafi Tehrani in volume 5 of Ravan javid interpretation has narrated from Qomi that: the meaning (of the word) are stars which hide in the day, so that they are not revealed. In some valid narrations it is interpreted as absent Imam (Imam Zaman (AJ).

Majlesi in volume 24 of Behar-ol-anvar, Koleyni in first volume of Kafi, Seyyed hashem bahrani in Al-borhan fi tafsir-el-Quran, Seyyed sharaf-o-din husseyni estarabadi in Tavil-ol-ayat-e-zahera and Ali-ibn-e-jome havizi in Noor-o-thaqaleyn interpretation has narrated that Om-e-hani has stated: ((I asked about the verses “فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ الْجَوارِ الْکُنَّسِ” ((So verily I call to witness the planets – that recede, go straight, or hide.) from Imam Baqer (AS); he stated: ((O Om-e-hani! It is about the Imam (AS) who will hide himself at the year 260. Then he will appear like a shining fireball in the dark night. O Om-e-hani! If you be at that time, your eyes will be brightened (you will get happy).
