Verse:

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِمَاءٍ مَعِينٍ

Sura Molk, verse 30

Translation:

Say: “See you? – If your stream be some morning lost [in the underground earth], who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?” (from www.tehranloh.ir)

Explanation of the verse:

Mohsen qeraati in volume 10 of Noor interpretation to interpret this verse narrates from Imam Baqer (AS) that stated: ((if your Imam gets absent, who will send the apparent Imam to you to tell you the news of skies and the earth and legitimate and taboo?))

Hosseyni shahabd-ol-azimi in volume 13 of Athna ashari interpretation about this verse at remainder part have wrote that the meaning of this verse is the absent Imam (AJ) and there are some Hadiths about it; including:

Koleyni in Al-kafi: from Imam Kazem (AS): ((((اذا غاب عنكم امامكم فمن يأتيكم بامام جديد. (When your Imam gets absent so who can bring you a new Imam?))

In Ekmal-o-din: Imam Baqer (AS) was asked about the interpretation of this verse; he stated: ((اذا فقدتم امامكم فلم تروه فماذا تصنعون (when you find your Imam, then you cannot see him; so what will you do?))

Majlesi in volumes 33 and 36 of Behar-ol-anvar, Seyyed hashem bahrani in Al-borhn fi tafsir-el-Quran interpretation and Kharaz qomi in Kefayat-ol-athar have narrated that Ammar said: in some wars (which Prophet PH was present) of Prophet (PH), I was with him and Ali (AS) killed their ring leaders and cut their array and also killed Amr-o-ibn-e-abd-o-llah jamhi and Shaybat-ibn-e-nafe (two persons of their heroes). I went to Prophet (PH) (at this moment) and told: O Prophet of God! Verily Ali did justice to Jihad (holy war) for the sake of God. He stated: ((he (Ali AS) is from me and I am from him, he is the heir of my knowledge and the performer of my debt, he is the abider to my promise and succeed after me. If there was not him, the pure believers after me would not be recognized. His war is my war and my war is God’s war; and his collusion is my collusion and my collusion is God’s collusion. Verily, he is the father of two grandchildren and Imams after me are from his loin. The almighty God will take out the Imams from his loin; the Mahdi of this ummah is from him.)) I told: may my father and mother be sacrificed for you! Who is this Mahdi? He stated: ((O Ammar! The blessed and exalted God have promised to me to take out the nine fold Imams from the loin of Hussain; his ninth son will get disappear from eyes. This is the very word of God: “قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِمَاءٍ مَعِينٍ” (Say: “See you? – If your stream be some morning lost [in the underground earth], who then can supply you with clear-flowing water?”) He has such a long absence which a group will turn back (to disbelief) and another group will stay stable (in their belief). When apocalypse happens, he will appear and fills the world with justice even if it is full of oppress. He fights for interpretation as so I fought for revelation. He has the same name of mine and he is the most similar person to me. O Ammar! After me a sedition happens and when it happened, follow Ali and his party because he is with right and right is with him.))

Arousi-al-havizi in Noor-o-thaqaleyn interpretation has narrated from Ali-ibn-e-jafar who has asked his brother, Imam Kazem (AS), about the interpretation of this verse. He stated: ((what will you do if you do not find your Imam and no longer cannot drink water from his limpid spring?))

Majlesi in volume 51 of Behar-ol-anvar, Sheykh tousi in Al-gheyba, Arousi-al-havizi in Noor-o-thaqaleyn interpretation have narrated from Imam Baqer (AS) about interpretation of this verse that he stated: ((this verse has been revealed about the absent Imam (AJ) which states: if your Ima gets absent from you and you do not know where is he, who will bring an apparent Imam for you to state the news of skies and the earth and the legitimate and taboo from God?)) then he stated: ((swear to god! The interpretation of this verse has not came yet and he should come inevitably.))

In second volume of Oyoun akhbar-o-Reza also, it has been narrated from Hasan-ibn-e-mahboub who has narrated from Imam Reza (AS) that he stated: ((inevitably, a very hard and severe sedition happens which every friend and mate of us falls in it; this sedition is when Shias miss the third grandchild of mine and he goes out of them, when the creatures of skies and the earth will cry for him. The man and woman would be eager to meet him and any sad person requires him and regrets not seeing him. Then he stated: ((may my father and mother be sacrificed for him! He has the same name of my respectable ancestor and he is similar to me and similar to Mouse-ibn-e-Emran (AS), he wears cloths of light which illuminates with the radius of light of holiness. How much faithful man and woman who are wandering and sad and have thirst to that sweet and soft water. It is as if I see them who cannot meet him in their lifetime and are disappointed of meeting him. Then a voice would be heard which all of people from far or near hear it. He is the mercy for believers and the torment for infidels.))
