Sura Arrahman, verse 41

Translation:

[For] the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

Sura Arrahman, verse 41

Explanation of the verse:

Majlesi in volume 52 of Behar-ol-anvar, Sheykh mofid in Al-ekhtesas, Safar qomi in Basaer-o-darajat, Arousi havizi in Noor-o-thaqaleyn interpretation and seyyed Hashem bahrani in Al-borhan fi tafsir-el-Quran have narrated that Moaviye dahani have told: Imam Sadeq (AS) stated about the verse “یُعْرَفُ المُجْرِمُونَ بِسِیمَاهُمْ فَیُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّواصِی و الأَقْدَامِ” ([For] the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet): ((O Moaviye! What do they told about it?)) I told: they suppose that the blessed and exalted God recognizes guilty people from their face and commands to take them from their heads and foot and put them in the fire. Imam (AS) told to me: ((is this possible that the blessed and exalted God needs to recognize a creature who have created them himself?)) I told: may I be sacrificed for you! What do you mean? He stated: ((I mean when Qaem (AJ) revolts, God gives (the knowledge) of faces to him and he orders to catch the infidels. Then they will take them from their foreheads and foot; then Imam (AS) will hit them severely and will kill them.))

Majlesi in volume 51 of Behar-ol-anvar, Namani in Ketab-ol-gheyba, seyyed Hashem bahrani in Al-borhan-fi-tafsir-el-Quran and seyyed Sharaf-o-din hoseyni estarabadi in Tavil-ol-ayat-o-zahera hae narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) that stated: ((this verse has been revealed about Imam Zaman (AJ) who will recognize them from their faces, then he and his companions will hit them severely.))

part 2

In the interpretation written by Mohamad-ibn-e-ibrahim-al-namani it has been narrated that: Abou basir narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) who stated: ((this verse was revealed about Qaem (AJ) who, after his appearing, will recognize guilty people with their faces and he will punish them with sword.)) also, Sheykh mofid in Al-ekhtesas have narrated a concept similar to it; where, again, Abou basir narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) that stated: ((this verse was revealed about Qaem (AJ); who, after his appearing, plus his companions, will recognize guilty and sinful  people with their faces and he will punish them.))

Huseyni shahabd-ol-azimi in volume 12 of Athna ashari interpretation have written by giving reference to Basaer-o-darajat that it has been narrated that someone asked Imam Sadeq (AS) about the meaning of this verse. He stated: ((what people say about this verse is not true; they say at judgmental day, God will recognize the sinful person with a sign in his/her face. The reason is that, their creator has no need to any sign to recognize them; but the meaning of the verse is that when out Qaem (AJ) revolts, God will bestow the recognition of faces [to him]. Then he will order to take guilty people from their heads and foot, then he will kill them with sword.)) similar to this narration can be found in Atyab-o-tebyan by seyyed Abd-ol-huseyn tayeb who has written about this verse that: at the moment of appearing of Qaem, the face of guilty people will change in a way that all [of people] will recognize them and there is no problem if it is one of the meanings and recrudescence is the other meanings of it. Even in this world, if someone has insight, from the obstruction of her/his face it can be discovered if someone is infidel, lewd or debauchee and also such eyes will see the holy aspect (luminosity) of face of scholars and pious people. ” يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسيماهُمْ” ([For] the sinners will be known by their marks)
