The fourteenth sermon of Nahjul Balagha The summary of the sermon:
. describing the characteristics of people age of ignorance (the pagan of the Arabs before Prophet Mohammad PH) and blaming them due to (their) aberrations and avoiding the Right
. pointing out to ignorance, oppression, sedition and corruption which were prevailed among people before Prophet (PH)
. introducing Prophet Mohammad (PH) as the savior of the people from astray, corruption and aberration and (their) guide them to the Right
. mentioning the significance of prophetic mission and the message of prophecy
. insisting on the point that the prophetic mission, was the cause of mutation and change in the society
. stating that, the Islamic society should avoid such aberrations and keep the messages of the Prophet (PH) in their life

The purpose of the sermon:
The main reason of performing the 15th sermon was to remember the age of ignorance (the pagan of the Arabs before Prophet Mohammad PH) and warn the Muslims about returning to the previous aberrations and corruptions. Imam Ali (AS) through this sermon, he had these purposes:
Blaming the aberrations after Prophet (PH): Imam Ali (AS) plus blaming the ones who after death of Prophet (PH) returned to previous aberration and corruptions, warned the society about returning to ignorant methods, which were common before Prophet (PH)’s prophetic mission.
Insisting on the role of Prophet (PH) and the prophetic mission: insisting on the significance of prophetic mission and Prophet Mohammad (PH)’s role in guiding and saving people from the age of ignorance and inviting the Muslims to maintain the message of the prophecy and its achievements.
Warning about forgetting the message of the prophecy: Imam Ali (AS) reminded Muslims that they should not forget Prophet Mohammad (PH)’s message of the prophecy and return to the previous astray; since this causes the fall and decline of the society.
Inviting to adherence to Islamic principles: this sermon was performed as a warning to the Muslims in order to they maintain the right way and preventing the seditions and aberrations through bounding to Islamic principles and avoiding the ignorant manners.
This sermon, was performed to reinforce the Muslim’s faith, remembering the importance of Prophet Mohammad (PH)’s prophetic mission and (make Muslims) to avoid the social and behavioral aberrations.
The chosen sentences:
. people at the age of ignorance, were living among the sedition and astray; they had no light to find the way and be saved from the aberrations through it. Prophet of Islam (PH) came and guided them from the darkness of ignorance to the light; in order to they see the way of the Right and be released of the ignorance.
. the prophetic mission of Prophet Mohammad (PH) was a new season in the human being’s history; which made the astray hearts, bright and the trapped souls, released.
